Pagan Domestic Long Hair Senior - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Black Point, California

Meet Pagan, a 15 year old sweetheart with a lovely black coat. Pagan lived with her sister, Bela, in one home all of her life. Unfortunately, Pagans family had a baby 17 months ago and it has really thrown this sweet girl for a loop. She has been diagnosed with anxiety and was prescribed Prozac, which she is given daily.

Pagan is surprisingly calm with the baby however. She lets him pet her, but she is not generally a touchy feely cat - she prefers to approach people on her terms. She has rarely been around children and would probably be happiest in a home without small kids.

Pagan genuinely likes to be around people but she doesn't need much stimulation. As kitties get older they tend to get a little more sensitive to touch, and this sweet girl loves your company, she just isnt a lap cat. She is a very curious kitty however, and she is quite independent. That said, since the arrival of the little one, she has taken to urinating outside of the litter box

most likely the only way she knows how to express her distaste for the situation (she was checked for health issues and got a clean bill).

Pagan likes treats, napping, and even playing a little. Shes not a fan of loud noises or an overactive household. While Pagan is not the most affectionate kitty with people shes not familiar with, if she bonds with you, she will let you hold her, cuddle her, snuggle with her, and she will drool and purr in happiness. She is equally happy to curl up near you for a nice nap.

Sometimes Pagan can be quite vocallikely a sign of her age.

Pagan will be happiest in a calm environment with someone who will play with her but also give her some space. Pagans current guardian believes that she was probably meant for a more calm home from the start, a place where she could be independent while still enjoying companionship and curiosity. The house shes in now has always been very active

and with Pagans anxiety, she needs an indoor-only place where she can remain calm, adjusted and in control. She is independent (in that she doesnt want to be approached - she wants to approach you), yet she is very curious (shell sit at the edge of a room watching people, taking it all in, but she doesnt try to engage others). She will do very well with someone who can accept her for who she is, who doesnt need a lap cat who cuddles all the time, but someone who wants companionship and company.
